Ball is God?!

Rotate the tower. Become the impact.

A hardcore vertical descent arcade where horizontal drag rotates the tower around the falling Espa. Skip safe landings, charge a combo smash and break through a mythic world where one unguarded hit ends the run.

Active production across ten location scenes, deterministic tower generation, boss configurations, branching dialogue and karma paths that change the rules of play.

Inside the current build

Karma changes more than the dialogue.

Light, neutral and dark paths affect shield behavior, warning telegraphs, enemy aggression and boss phases. The story is not a layer placed over the arcade loop; consequence reaches back into the runtime.

Current production UI

The descent now has a face before the first drop.

The complete current runtime flow is shown in the order players meet it: level selection, dialogue, a milestone choice, then victory or the separate defeat branch. Every visual below comes from the production Unity project.

Features

What players do in Ball is God?!

Drag-to-rotate descent

Horizontal drag rotates the tower around the automatically falling Espa, lining up gaps, hazards and safe platforms.

Hardcore arcade pressure

Every mistake matters, so each run is built around focus, rhythm, precision and recovery under pressure.

Bosses and mythic worlds

Ten location scenes and their boss configurations connect divine pressure with story-driven progression.

Mechanical consequences

Mercy, force and karma change dialogue, shield rules, enemy aggression, telegraphs and boss phases.

Gameplay loop

Read the fall, time the gap and survive the divine tower.

  • Step 01Read the descent

The player scans the next platforms, gaps, hazards and safe timing windows while the world pushes downward.

  • Step 02Rotate the tower

Horizontal drag turns the world around Espa, aligning a safe platform or a deliberate gap.

  • Step 03Risk and smash

Skip three platforms to charge a combo smash, then break through structures while the shield covers one lethal mistake.

  • Step 04Choose the consequence

Mercy and force shape karma, dialogue and the gameplay rules carried into enemies and bosses.

Story / world

A divine tower, a falling hero and a mythic world built for consequences.

Ball is God?! began from a childhood fascination with mobile vertical-descent arcades: reading gaps, reacting quickly and surviving by instinct.

But the format also felt like it could carry much more - bosses, personality, story, moral tension and a world that feels authored rather than disposable. The current project follows Espa through ten location scenes, strange characters and choices that change both story and play.

That became the question behind Ball is God?!: what if a simple vertical descent arcade had the pressure of a boss game and the emotional consequences of a story-driven RPG?
